Dr. Grove Steyn of Meridian Economics presented a seminar on the 9th of October at CCRED on the impact of regulation on the performance of SOEs in South Africa.
Dr Sheila Farrell will present on how the Ports Regulator in South Africa has interpreted the provisions of the 2005 Ports Act, and how far this goes in achieving the objectives of the Ports Act. The discussion will draw on international experiences of Ports Regulators in India, Australia and elsewhere.
The review of the electronic communications sector includes an overview of economic regulation of the electronic communications sector, linkages between the regulation of the sector and economic growth, as well as a sector performance review including an assessment of pricing, network penetration, employment, investment and profitability.
